Prof. Françoise Winnik passed away a few days ago. She was found unconscious on the floor in her home in Helsinki and did not regain consciousness.
Prof. Winnik was raised in France and earned an undergraduate degree in Mulhouse. She was a PhD student with Prof. Peter Yates at U. Toronto. After working many years at the Xerox Research Centre in Mississauga, she became a faculty member at McMaster University, and then moved to the University of Montreal. She retired there a couple of years ago and took up a new position at the University of Helsinki.

Los candidatos deben haber concluído un Máster (en Química o en Ingeniería) y saber inglés.
Se ofrecerán dos becas para realizar el doctorado en Química Aplicada y Materiales Poliméricos en la Universidad del País Vasco en San Sebastián (España) y la otra para hacer el Doctorado en Química Industrial en la Universidad de Génova (Italia). Los estudiantes pasarán 50% en la universidad que les corresponda y 50% del tiempo en la compañía BOREALIS, en Linz, Austria, ya que se trata de un Doctorado Industrial. Se trata de becas muy bien dotadas económicamente.

The GEP-SLAP2020 conference has been postponed to 2021
As you all know we were going to hold the GEP-SLAP2020 conference at the KURSAAL in San Sebastián, Spain from 25 to 29 October 2020.
However, we have been closely monitoring the pandemic caused by COVID-19 since its outbreak. Taking into account its worldwide spread and the difficulties for travelling abroad, the organizing committee of GEP-SLAP2020 has decided to postpone the conference to May 9-13, 2021. The venue of the conference will be the same, the Kursaal Conference Center in the beautiful City of San Sebastian.
